How to Make St. Patrick's Day Green Punch

Remember last month when I said how much I love sherbet punch? Well, I will take any excuse to make a batch and St. Patrick's Day is the perfect occasion to make some St. Patrick’s Day Green Punch.

How to make green punch for a simple St. Patrick's Day treat with sherbet. Click through for how to make this pinch proof treat!

It is a super easy and inexpensive way to add a little green to your St. Patrick’s Day plans or parties – I think it would be so much fun to surprise everyone in the office with a festive afternoon treat. Yum!

How to make Green Sherbet Punch:

Rim you glass with green sprinkles for added fun. Michael from Inspired By Charm forever changed my life when he gave a rimming tip on his Leprechaun Kiss Martini recipe -- use honey for extra sprinkle-sticking power. Genius, right?

Place two scoops of softened lime sherbet in a glass and pour clear soda into the jar. Watch out for the foam; I wasn't paying attention and the foam totally bubbled over and messed up my sprinkles. Dang it.

Add a festive straw and enjoy!

Be sure to tag your photos with #PDBJaySweetTooth and share how you will incorporate your “pinch punch” into your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations!

Six Kitchen Supplies Every Foodie Needs

Foodies go Social a KitchenAid Giveaway!

I have never considered myself a "real" foodie. I was a horribly picky eater as a child and there are still several foods that I avoid like the plague – don’t even think about coming near me with a banana! I have become slightly more adventurous with food since I met Houston, but I am still not a fan of seafood (nope, not even shrimp or lobster) and I only like a couple different fruits.

Now, sweets and desserts are a whole other story! I am most definitely a sweet tooth foodie!

I really love baking and often do so to de-stress. There is just something therapeutic about measuring and mixing ingredients and knowing that the result will be delicious. I love cookies, cake, brownies, and anything that involves cinnamon and sugar.

So, since I can’t share a cookie with you, I thought it would be fun to roundup some of my favorite kitchen/baking items that I use on the regular!

Six things every foodie needs in their kitchen, and especially if you have a sweet tooth! Click though to see my favorite kitchen tools and to enter to win a KitchenAid stand mixer!

1. KitchenAid stand mixer – a gift from my sweet husband (long before he was my husband.) I don’t know how I ever made cookies without this thing… or mashed potatoes, for that matter

2. Cake Stands – every house should have at least one. They instantly make a table look more polished and highlight a birthday cake at even the simplest birthday parties. No need to have 20 like me (I’m addicted, but treat yourself to at least one pretty cake stand).

3. Cookie Sheets – In my opinion, the cheaper the baking sheet, the better! My chocolate chip cookies always seem to bake better on the thin, flimsy cookie sheets. You know the ones; three sheets for $9. Heck yes!

4. Latte Bowls – I am obsessed with the Anthropologie Latte Bowls. I am asking for the Sherbet set for my birthday.

5. Cookie Scoop – Friends. This little gadget has changed my cookie game. Each cookie comes out the same size and is perfectly round (as long as you don’t overload the scoop). It looks like a mini ice cream scoop and works the same way. Genuis!

6. Ball Mason Jars – I use Ball mason jars for everything! Crafts, baking, salads, drinking glasses, you name it.  If I can fit it in a mason jar, that is my first choice.

Lucky for me, I found a fun Facebook group of other foodie bloggers who enjoy sweet treats just as much as I do. I dare not check the feed while I am hungry, because it is sure to make me have a hard core sweet craving. If you're now realized that you're a foodie and you're a blogger who shares recipes on your blog often, we'd love to have you join our Foodies Go Social Facebook group. Jenna from A Savory Feast and Madison from Wetherills Say I Do started this group to have a place for food and lifestyle bloggers who share recipes to share their posts and authentically promote each other's blogs. We have social sharing threads daily and a question thread each week to help each other grow our blogs and become better food bloggers! To join, request membership here and fill out this Google Form. You must fill out the form in order to have your blog verified and membership accepted!

Our Honeymoon in Turks and Caicos

I spent last weekend on vacation catching up on photo projects and digital photo books and realized I am so behind in sharing the beautiful images from our honeymoon in Turks and Caicos!

Our honeymoon in Turks and Caicos was a dream come true! The water is unbelievable and the sand is like powder. Click through to see more gorgeous photos and read all about where to stay and what to do on a Turks and Caicos vacation.

I had a few requests when it came time to schedule our honeymoon and pick a location: I wanted somewhere tropical, preferably with a hammock, and I didn't want to spend more than 10 hours travelling. - I just didn't want to spend 2 whole days of our vacation travelling to and from our destination and I don't do very well on a plane for over 6 hours.

We took the red-eye flight from LAX with a stop in Atlanta for 3 hours; it was a great way to break up the travelling and we were able to stretch our legs and get a bite to eat. LAX to Atlanta: 5 hours.

Then it was a quick two-hour flight over beautiful ocean water and we arrived in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. Atlanta to Turks and Caicos: 2.5 hours.

WHERE TO STAY:

The Seven Stars Resort in Grace Bay was beautiful and our view from our room was breathtaking. We had a beautiful balcony and I enjoyed lounging on the patio quite frequently during our stay.

Added bonus: the resort greets you with delicious and ice cold rum punch when you check in! It was a hot and humid 90 degrees when we arrived, so the rum punch was much appreciated.
