Laney Wedding Photos - Kellogg House Wedding Portraits

Our Kellogg House Wedding was perfect and we loved taking our wedding portraits around the venue under the shade of 100 year old trees and down beautiful stone walkways. The Kellogg House is truly a beautiful California wedding venue.

After our ceremony, which you can read about herewe went out to the front of the Kellogg House to take our wedding portraits. One of the things we loved about having our wedding at the Kellogg House was that our ceremony and reception could be in the back yard and we could take our portraits out in the front yard. I am so much more comfortable behind a camera than in front of it, so I was so relieved I wouldn’t have all of our wedding guests staring at me while I tried to look relaxed in our photos.

Thank You Berry Much Gift Baskets

If you need a quick thank you gift, this Thank You Berry Much Gift Basket is the perfect solution! A beautiful graphic with berry candies in a sweet ceramic berry basket is a great gift idea!

Two years ago I asked Houston to make me an updated Thank You Berry Much graphic for one of my gift ideas. Well, he did me one better and made me four different berry graphics! You can see all four of them in his Etsy shop here.

Well, I finally had time over my new year’s break from school to assemble and photograph a Thank You Berry Much Gift Basket with the blackberry and raspberry graphics. I was so excited to find out that the Jelly Belly Candy Company makes raspberry and blackberry candies and I knew they would be perfect for my baskets.

Laney Wedding Photos - Kellogg House Ceremony

Well my friends, I finally have all our wedding photos! Hallelujah! It was a long two months of technical difficulties and emotional breakdowns, but I finally have them and get to share them with you!

Our wedding ceremony at the Kellogg House at Cal Poly Pomona was the perfect backyard wedding under the shade of some giant trees! The Kellogg House was the perfect Southern California wedding venue!

Thank you for being so patient!

You can get caught up and check out the first post about us getting ready in this post here.

Our ceremony and reception were held at the historic Kellogg House on the Cal Poly Pomona campus in Pomona, California;  Houston received his undergraduate degree from Cal Poly so it was awesome to have our wedding at his alma mater.

The Kellogg House was conveniently located for all of our guests; both local and from out of town and the campus also has a hotel that was able to accommodate everyone who wanted to stay nearby.

You Are Loved Baby Care Kit

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #HuggiesNewYear #CollectiveBias

Babies need a lot of merchandise and foster babies often don't have anything of their own when they arrive at a foster home, this baby care kit is a great way to show a baby some love when they need it most. #HuggiesNewYear #ad

I have been so fortunate to be an Auntie to my sisters' five boys, one girl, and now my two best friends' daughters! I am also wiggling my way into Auntie status with Houston's family as well. I served on the nursery team at my old church for 11 years and taught Sunday school for two years; I have been surrounded by babies and little kids for as long as I can remember! Spit up, diapers, and fussy babies don't bother me; bring it on, I am the baby whisperer!

I have also seen the heartache of infertility in many of my friends and the intense longing for a baby to add to their family. I applaud the patient and tenderhearted women in my life. Among those deserving so much praise is my friend Clarissa who has been so open and honest with her infertility journey that has transformed her life and her family with the adoption of her two handsome little boys.

What started out as a foster opportunity has brought so much joy into her family and has even presented them with the unique chance to keep two biological brothers connected and together! They love their boys and are advocates for fostering and caring for the little ones in need.

In fact, last week they had another two precious little ones placed in their care. That's the thing with foster care, babies need to be placed in safe, loving homes, quickly and they often don't come with many things of their own.

Now, like I said, I have been around a LOT of babies and I know that babies come with a LOT of merchandise. But these babies, the newest additions to the Hooper home, they came with nothing. No favorite blanket, no extra diapers, no toy to comfort them. It is a good thing my friend Clarissa is one frugal lady and always has a stockpile of coupons ready, but she also reached out to friends on Facebook for any gently used baby clothes for her two little ones that we may be able to drop off quickly.

The two babies entrusted to Clarissa and her hubby came right on the heels of something really incredible happening at our church. A sweet family, the Thompsons, have launched a safe-house for foster babies for the transition time between being taken into custody and being placed in a foster home. I was shocked to hear that social workers struggle to place babies in homes (sometimes they only need to stay for a day or two) and the poor babies are stuck hanging out in an office building until someone is able to say "yes". But the opening of Bithiah's House in Southern California will help provide a bed for every baby that can't be placed right away.

Hearing about Clarissa's newest additions and the babies in need at Bithiah's House inspired me to make some 48-hour care packages that can be given to each baby as they travel from place to place; easing the burden slightly on a foster home as well as providing a little security for the baby.
