Pink and Gold Baby Shower

Pink and Gold Baby Shower

I love party planning.

My biggest problem is that I generally have more ideas in my head then I have time on my watch, or money in my wallet, but I'm a firm believer that just because it's inexpensive doesn't mean that it can't be cute.

This week I had so much fun putting together different elements for a pink and gold baby shower for one of my coworkers. She's having a baby girl, and I am so excited!

I looked around at different baby shower decorations at various party stores, but they all seemed cheap or cheesy to me. So I did what any crafty gal would do... I came up with a bunch of my own ideas.

Originally I wanted to do a princess theme, and created this inspiration board:

Pink and Gold Baby Shower Ideas

I had trouble finding a punch or a Cricut cartridge with a crown and quickly switched to a straight pink and gold baby shower theme. (I finally found one at Hobby Lobby for $10, but the moment had passed).

I had so much fun shopping and gathering different elements. I scored most of the paper goods for under a dollar, and that included is adorable paper straws from the Target dollar section. I love that store.

Houston was such a wonderful man and totally allowed me to turn the kitchen into a crafting war zone on Sunday night, complete with glitter, ribbon and an insane amount of ModPodge.

I found the milk glasses at Michaels, I scored a six pack of them for five dollars with my coupon, to make a pretty container to put the straws in.

Gold Glitter Milk Bottles

I put some masking tape around the middle of the glass, ModPodged the bottom and drenched it in glitter. Once it was dry, I removed the masking tape and I had a sparkly gold glass to hold the paper straws.

I brought in two of my cake stands, complete with gold ribbon, courtesy of Houston’s problem solving skills. The man knows my love language is acts of service and he was so patient while I fought with the wired ribbon to thread through the cake stand.

Pink Tassel Garland

I threw down a pink table cloth, some plates and napkins and dropped the cutlery in a white mug. The tassel garland is from Michaels. I almost bought this "baby makes three" print from Hobby Lobby, but Stacey's nursery doesn't have any gold in it, so that would have been a great prop, but a lame purchase.

It was a perfectly sweet pink and gold baby shower and so easy to set up and clean up. I can't wait to meet the newest addition to our office family!
